Art 1 Fnial Portfolio

       I think that this was my most successful project this semester. This was my favorite because it was a really creative project and i got to get my hand painted. First we had to draw this on paper and i dont think that mine looked that good on paper but when Griffin and Mr. Sands painted it on my hand it looked a lot better.We could choose any animal and I chose to do a seahorse. I think that the colors were very fun and the overall thing looked good. It could have been better. I think if you just glance at it then you think its a seahorse. But, if you stare at it and analyze it, it doesnt look that much like a seahorse. I still like it though.

      This project was not a very successful project but i learned a lot from it.First we had to print out a picture of our face. Then we had to cut out different layered stencils for our face. Lastly, we had to spraypaint the different layers. I learned that this project would have been successful if I had done a solid background instead of putting pink dots on the back becasue it made it look weird. I also learned that i should have waited until the spraypainted dried to do my other coats of spraypaint. The paint ran a lot and it didnt look like my face. If i could do it again I would take a lot more time.

       Before we did this project we worked on the value scale. We drew the value scale and talked about how to shade with it.We previously learned how to shade also. This is the reason that i think this project used other techniques because if we didnt use the value scale before this then i dont think it would have come out as successful. It doesnt look amazing but its supposed to be Channing Tatums face. I could have taken more time. I dont think that my shading is bad but it could be better with the the arm and some other things.This shows my growth as an artist becuase i would have never ben able to do this before I had this class.

    I think that this project was the least important even though I was successful with making my bunny. I dont think that i really learned anything. I carved into the thing without really having a plan and i dont think that i did as many stamps as a should have. It was a fun project but it didnt really use that many concepts that we learned in class.  The few concepts that it did use, i dont think that i used very well either. We were supposed to carve and use shading while carving. I dont think that i really understood that concept. My bunny could have looked a lot more like a bunny. I just think that this project was fun but not the best.

This painting project is the project that reflects me the most. I say that because my personality shows in this painting. It might look like a kid painted this but thats me. If it wasnt for the boat then i think that this paintuing would actually be quality.  I also chose this picture to paint becasue i love the beach and if i had to paint something it would definetly be the beach. The clouds also look good in this paining. The color of the sand and the water and the sky contrast well too i think. This was a fun and successful project that defiently reflected who i am.
